| We
believe that every breeding should be carefully planned in advance
to make sure that you have healthy, happy puppies. If you have any
questions or would like to discuss stud service plans, please contact
me at
or by phone at 831-476-9065.
We have signed
the JRTCA
Breeder's Code of Ethics which requires that we follow certain
health and breed standards to protect the breed.
WHAT WE NEED:
1)
Pedigree
This is the first step to making a good match. Please send us a
copy of her pedigree by email or by fax (toll free fax 1-888-522-6809).
2)
Photos
We would like to see your female or see a photo of her. You can
email
these or send them to us by mail.
3)
Tests
The tests that we require help us make sure that your dog is free
of genetic issues before the breeding is done. Please provide us
with a copy of the veterinarians findings.
We breed approved
outside bitches with a current (within 30 days) negative brucellosis,
a normal BAER and a clear CERF, and we provide the same on our stud
dogs for the records of the owner of the bitch. We require that
all of the bitch's vaccinations and worming be documented and up
to date (in the last 30 days).
a) The CERF
eye test is an simple annual test that must be done by a veterinary
opthalmologist. We would prefer the female to be at least 2 to 3
years old. There is a list of eye specialists at: www.vmdb.org/clinic.html
b) The BAER
hearing test is a test also done by a specialist. An article
with a list of veterinarians is available at this
web site.
c) Brucellosis
Canis
is a disease that can cause sterility and serious illness in dogs.
The test ideally needs to be current within 30 days.
4)
Planning
We would like to have you keep us up to date on the expected heat
cycle and call us us as soon after she started her heat as possible.
As with any biological function, schedules can vary widely
and you should contact us quite early to make sure that we will
be available. Resources
